It’s not the least bit surprising that more women are choosing to become work at home moms instead of toiling away in an office all day.  The perks seem almost too good to be true:  you get to command your hours, and you finally get to do what you want, be it blogging for money, putting up a modest business, or just telecommuting to work instead of actually going to the office.  In fact, it sounds like the perfect solution for busy mothers who want to do justice to both their careers and their obligations to their family.

Nonetheless, there are a couple of things that work at home moms ought to keep in mind when it comes to managing their tasks.  If you can squeeze past these tight spots brought on by working in your own home, you won’t have a hard time adjusting to your new working environment:

1.    The urge to check on the kids frequently:
This compulsion is especially strong if your kids are still very young and need supervising.  Of course, we’re not asking you to be negligent, but you’ll have to learn how to strike a healthy balance between work and your children if you’re going to get anything done within the day.  Try to get the help of a relative or a baby sitter who can look after the kids while you’re kept busy so that you don’t have to come running to them whenever you feel like they need you. 

Make it a point to spend your breaks with your children so that you can still have some quality time with them.  After all, that’s the point of being a work at home mom, right?  You want to be able to give your career and your children the time that they deserve from you, so create a schedule that lets you devote yourself to work and enjoy your kids’ company, all in the same day.

2.   Distractions:
Face it, your house is a hotbed of things that could distract you from the job at hand, making it difficult for you to finish anything if you let those things pull you away from your tasks.  Some chores could lure you away from your work, while the TV can tempt you to the couch and get you started on a movie marathon that you can’t afford to take.  Make a daily to-do list, and be vigilant about sticking to your work schedule.  Learning how to focus better might not come naturally some of you, but once you get used to your daily routine, you’ll find it easier to stick to your work and accomplish more things.

3.  Extra paperwork:
When you start your own business at home or transfer your work to your own house, you might have to handle a lot of the paperwork by yourself at one point or another.  This is especially true if your former company used to take care of your insurance or other such financial obligations.  Keep track of your bills, get a hold of your expenses, and make sure that you pay your all outstanding dues on time.  You don’t want to be bogged down by debt just because working at home has made you more complacent.

4.  Loneliness:
A lot of work at home moms have to grapple with those days when loneliness or boredom sets in.  This is because most of them came from offices where they had daily contact with people in real time, where talking to someone meant dealing with that person in the flesh, instead of seeing an instant message pop up on the screen.  Unfortunately, working at home won’t afford you that much social interaction, so try to find ways to conquer loneliness when it hits.  Ring up some friends every week and arrange to meet up with them, or take the family out to dinner when you’re done with work.  That way, things don’t get boring or humdrum for you, and you won’t end up resenting your job.

It’s easy to get caught up in the euphoria of finally working at home and seeing your children more often, but you have to remember that working in a domestic setting can also have some drawbacks that you will have to overcome.  Remember: whether you want to make money blogging, are eager to start your own small business, or just plain telecommuting, working at home can be the most rewarding career move you’ll ever make, but only if you learn to adjust well and manage yourself, your time, and your finances prudently.

So you’ve heard about online and affiliate marketing and have learned that they are a great way to make money online, but are you new to the process and don’t know where to begin?

If so it’s time to objectively take stock of your skills and learn what you need to in order to succeed.

At its most basic, online marketing breaks down into two principle parts:  search engine optimization (SEO) and sales copy.  The SEO will drive traffic to your sites, and good sales copy will convince those visitors to buy the product from you.  When you begin to get traffic and sales, you will have the basis of your own ‘list’ of clients. But what if you don’t know a lot about either?

Focus on one or the other to start with and once you have something to bring to the table, you can look for someone to partner with for a campaign.

Sales copy will likely prove to be the valuable skill, and as such is a great place to start.  Look for online resources, books from the local library about copywriting, anything you can get your hands on.Also, read through sites that other online marketers have written.

For every person that wants to be an online marketer and has good sales copy skills, there is another person who is good at SEO but has problems stringing together words into compelling sentences.  Check with forums devoted to online marketing, and you can probably find somebody who is willing to team up with you.

Especially in your early stages of internet marketing, it is better to split all the profit generated than not make any profit at all.  Once you gain some experience, you can strike out on your own, or you may find that you like the partnership and continue with it.

Either way, by combining your skills and somebody else’s at the beginning of your online marketing career, you can start making sales faster.

Third you will need sandpaper.Sandpaper allows you to smooth out the rough surfaces which makes it easy to apply a smooth coat of paint.

Fourth, a caulk gun you will need.All walls are far from perfect. It could have cracks on the wood base or trim.  A caulking gun helps you cover it up and make a smooth surface.

As you can see, these tips are all designed to help make your painting job go well.  It helps remove the hassles of things being in the way.  Or a fixing wall that has blemishes and would show if painted over.  All designed to make your job easier.

Do all this and not only will you be pleased in the outcome but a good quality job will add value to your home.

The good thing with articles is that you can write about things that people would want to know about. In the shortest span of time also, those are distributed to more sites than you can think of. Even before you know what is happening, you are getting more visitors than you previously had.

Did you ever get yourself into burnout territory? OK, these things happened to me, some years ago. I was stuck in that boring job, and I hated every minute of it. And then I got fired from that job. This happened because I had burned myself out on the job, plus the boss disliked me. Really, it was a blessing in disguise. Since that job was making me sick, it was good to get rid of it.

The immediate issue was: how can I pay my bills. I had already had enough education to last a lifetime or more. Plus I had to make some cash immediately.

Well, what I had was my old PC and a connection to the Internet. Also I knew how to build web pages. Now, searching online for some business opportunities, I realized there were several ways to make money online. It was even possible to get my feet wet with no product of my own.

At first, I made some money by running AdSense ads on some of my web sites. Soon, however, I realized I could make better money as affiliate. What this means is that you recieve commissions for promoting other people’s stuff.

One great example is Clickbank. Clickbank serves as payment processor for thousands of merchants who sell some virtual product online. And you can very easily sign up to be an affiliate for any of these products. Then you recieve generous commissions if someone buys a product through your affiliate link.

You can count on a commission of 50% or better as a thank-you for securing a sale. Imagine for example an ebook, on the subject of making money online. It might be offered at, say, $47. Then you may get about $25, or more, for each sale referred by you. According to rumors I have heard, there are successful affiliates who make lots of money through Clickbank stuff.

Personally, my greatest cash cow has been web hosting plans. It was easy to put up a little web site with my own web hosting reviews, and collect commissions as people signed up for web hosting using my links. It’s great - except for all those competitors. Unfortunately, there are those who use this strategy without really knowing what they’re doing; their lack of knowledge is evident. This turns would-be customers away. As for myself, I do my research and only promote hosting providers I know have a good reputation.
